FAQs

How do I submit to Greatest City Diary?

Check out our Submittable. We will do our best to respond to submissions within 3 months.

Do you only care about writers?

No! We do care about them, but we care about all artists. Actors, chefs, dancers, fashion designers, you name it...if someone comes to us with something they call art, we care about it.

What does GCD publish?

Um. Everything? We aren’t choosy about genres. Our goal is to highlight imaginative, thoughtful work in different stages of completion from artists of all backgrounds. There is a conversation to be had between the pieces, and their ages. We encourage the submissions of non-traditional forms of art that we want to have a home. Have renderings of a chair you built? An entry from a dream journal? A note you wrote to yourself a few weeks back? If there is something interesting you want us to see, send it to us. That being said…we also love traditional forms! Send us your short story, your poem, your play (excerpted), your portrait, your photography. Don’t worry about perfection.

How do I join the Collective?

Contributors to GCD and Bus Ride Talks are automatically considered members of the collective. If you don’t have anything you want to submit *but* want to become more actively involved, please reach out at thoughts@greatestcitycollective.org! We are a small team looking to add different staff members as we go. We’d love to work with you!
